Lyrik aus der Liebe

Translated from the German by the author

Toward the end of union—
and yet, all half:
half light,
half warmth,
half-long days.

You haven’t written.
I half thought of you—
half a smile,
half a longing,
half a lament.

So I stand,
half freezing, half warmed,
at my side of the half-open double window,
and feel the world ahalf.
